EpilepSEE — Privacy Policy Last updated: April 2026 · Version 2.0 Summary: EpilepSEE stores all data privately on your device only. We never collect, receive, transmit, or have access to any of your personal data. Nothing leaves your phone. 1. Who we are EpilepSEE is a personal epilepsy tracking application developed and published by Matthew Shamash, UK. For any privacy-related queries, complaints, or requests, contact us at: epilepseeapp[at]gmail.com 2. What data the app handles EpilepSEE allows you to record and store the following types of information entirely on your own device: Seizure entries — date, time, type, duration, severity, aura, triggers, location, witness status, notes Recovery entries — linked to seizure entries, symptoms, duration, sleep, medical assistance Daily factors — sleep, stress, medication adherence, hydration, mood, exercise, menstrual cycle Notes — free text observations Emergency information — your name, conditions, medications, emergency contacts, and instructions for bystanders This information constitutes special category health data under UK GDPR Article 9. 3. Where your data is stored All data is stored exclusively in your device's local storage (localStorage). It never leaves your device. EpilepSEE has no servers, no database, no cloud storage, and no backend infrastructure of any kind. We do not receive, access, process, or store any of your data. We have no technical means of doing so. 4. Data we do not collect EpilepSEE does not collect: Your name, email address, or any account information Location data Device identifiers or advertising IDs Usage analytics or crash reports Any data transmitted over the internet The app functions entirely offline. No internet connection is required or used during normal operation. 5. Third party services EpilepSEE does not use any third party analytics, advertising, tracking, or data processing services. All libraries used by the app (Chart.js for charts, jsPDF for PDF export) are bundled locally within the app and make no external network calls. 6. Health Connect (optional feature) EpilepSEE may optionally read health data from Android Health Connect — including sleep duration, heart rate, steps, and blood oxygen levels — to pre-populate fields in the Daily Factors form. This feature: Requires your explicit permission when first requested Only reads data from Health Connect — it never writes to it Stores any data read within the app's local storage on your device only Can be revoked at any time via Android Settings > Health Connect > App permissions Health Connect data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. 7. Lawful basis for processing Under UK GDPR Article 6 and Article 9, the lawful basis for processing health data within EpilepSEE is your explicit consent. You enter your own health data voluntarily for your own personal use. You are the sole data controller of your own data. Because EpilepSEE never receives or processes your data on our systems, the developer acts as neither a data controller nor data processor of your personal information in the traditional sense. 8. Your rights Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data. Because all data is stored on your device only, you can exercise these rights directly: Access your data — use the Export function in the History screen to export a full copy Delete your data — delete individual entries from within the app, or uninstall the app to remove all data Backup and restore — use the JSON backup function in History to save and restore your data 9. Data retention Your data is retained on your device for as long as you choose to keep it. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all data. We hold no copies of your data and cannot recover it if deleted. 10. Children EpilepSEE is intended for use by adults and young people aged 13 and over. If the app is used by or on behalf of a child under 13, a parent or guardian should supervise use. We do not knowingly collect data from children — and in any case, we do not collect any data from any users. 11. Data breaches Because we hold no user data on any server or system, a breach of our systems cannot expose your personal health data. The only risk of data exposure is if your own device is compromised. We recommend keeping your device secured with a PIN, password, or biometric lock. 12. Changes to this policy We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The current version will always be available at the URL linked from the app's Play Store listing. The version date at the top of this page indicates when it was last updated. 13.
